Where to Get Served and Volleyed During Wimbledon in Denver

Cherio!

Summer is when the sports world preps to watch the white outfits of Wimbledon get some grass stains. While these green pastures may seem a little refined for drinking, you better believe the Brits know what to quaff while watching the best tennis in the world and these drinks are easily available all around town. Here is a rundown of Wimbledon drinks in Denver.

Pimm’s Cup
The Pimm’s Cup is Wimbledon’s premier cocktail and imbibers can find a dandy one over at Humboldt. Pimm’s is an old English liqueur featuring various fruits and herbs and labeled Nos. 1-6 with each number based on a different spirit. Humboldt’s Pimm’s Cup features Pimm’s No. 1, cucumber, strawberries, lemon juice and ginger beer. Pimm’s No. 1 is a gin-based spirit and is the most common spirit found on Wimbledon grounds, next to Champagne of course.

Pimms Sipper and The Ace
Along with Pimms another popular treat at Wimbledon is berries and cream and over at the ViewHouse these tasty concoctions include a healthy dollop of strawberries. The Pimms Sipper is a highball with fresh lemon juice, fresh strawberry puree, cucumber slices and local spirit Spring 44 Vodka topped with ginger beer. The Ace uses ViewHouse-infused cucumber vodka with fresh squeezed lime juice and muddled fresh strawberries topped with Sierra Mist. Served exclusively at the ViewHouse, these specialty cocktails will be availble during the fort night for $7 each. Cherio!

Whiskey Smash
While the players at Wimbledon will be smashing serves and volleys, guests can enjoy the Whiskey Smash at Session Kitchen. Made with Old Forester Bourbon, blackberries and lemon, this hard-hitting drink will leave an impression on the baseline.

English Beers
Wimbledon serves over 100,000 pints of draft beer to spectators during the tournament so why not join them and have a glass of Smithwick’s, Boddington’s, Bass or Newcastle while watching the matches. Find Imperial pints of British beers at Jordan’s Bistro, The British Bulldog, Churchill’s Public House, both Fox and Hound locations and all three Baker St. Pub locations.
