Where to Grab a Drink on Christmas Day 2015

Where to Grab a Drink on Christmas Day 2015

While a large amount of restaurants and bars will close their doors for December 25, there are still a few around Baltimore where you can go to get your drink on. We’d like to raise a glass to these spots, some of our favorite options for dining and drinking around the city on Christmas Day.

Dalesio’s
If the Feast of Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve isn’t enough, you can pop into Dalesio’s on Christmas Day for their upscale Italian fare and an impressively affordable wine list. (829 Eastern Ave.; 410-539-1965)

Cardinal Tavern
Since they don’t open until 4 PM, you can actually get in a little family time before heading to the Cardinal to wash it all away with one of their many selections of whiskey or craft beer. (901 S Clinton St.; 410-327-7850)

Cat’s Eye Pub
Open 365 days a year, Cat’s Eye is the perfect place to hunker down with some craft brews and take in some live jazz or blues on the holiday. (1730 Thames St.; 410-276-9866)

RA Sushi
Sure, hitting up an Asian-style restaurant on Christmas Day is nothing new for some, but sushi sounds like a much cooler way to do it than we’ve seen in the past (Christmas Story, we’re looking at you). You can get your saketinis and sashimi starting at 4 PM. (390 Lancaster St.; 410-522-3200)

Horseshoe Casino
If Santa fills your pockets with winnings at the tables, you can grab a seat at Jack Binion’s Steakhouse for some classy drinks and an upscale dinner or go casual with burgers, wings and craft beer at Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen and Bar. (1525 Russell St.; 844-777-7463)

Regi’s Bistro
Regi’s is reliably open on the holidays, and this Christmas is no different. Trade out figgy pudding for their cleverly named Fig-ehht About It (Figenza Vodka/cranberry juice/triple sec/fresh lime juice) or switch out that tired cranberry sauce for a Cranberry and Cinnamon Whiskey Sour (Cranberry & Cinnamon Syrup/Sour Mix/Tincup Whiskey). For food, Regi’s will be serving brunch and dinner with a mixture of their signature dishes and some holiday additions. (1002 Light St.; 410-539-7344)

Wit and Wisdom
There may be no better view to be had on Christmas Day than the waterfront from inside Wit and Wisdom. Settle in at the bar for seasonal cocktails or wine from their impressive list, visit for brunch between 7 and 11 AM, or dine between 2 and 8 PM on the three-course meal prepared by Chef Zack Mills. (200 International Dr.; 410-576-5800)

Sotto Sopra
Open every year on Christmas, one of our favorite upscale spots in Mt. Vernon will have plenty of wine and contemporary Italian cuisine to serve in both its elegant dining room and at the bar. (405 N Charles St.; 410-625-0534)
