Woodford Reserve is Bringing Two Distinct Culinary Experiences to Center City, April 24 & 25

NOTE: The dinner at Gran Caffe l'Aquila on Monday, April 24 has been postponed until further notice. Check back here for any updates!

Woodford Reserve is bringing two unique whiskey-focused dinners to Center City, complete with cocktails, paired food, whiskey experts, and some of Philly’s finest bartenders. The first, which will take place from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM on Monday, April 24, will be at Gran Caffe l’Aquila, and the second, which will take place from 5:30 PM - 8 PM on Tuesday, April 25, will be a combined effort from Tinto and Village Whiskey.

The event at Gran Caffe l’Aquila will, aside from the Woodford Reserve cocktails, will stick to its roots and serve traditional, authentic Italian food. In fact, everything served that isn’t Woodford Reserve will be Italian, including the mixers and liqueurs used in the cocktails, and the cafe’s award-winning gelato will be infused with Woodford Reserve for dessert. Dishes on the Woodford-inspired menu include a selection of crostini to start, grilled octopus, whiskey-infused sorbet, and a mixed grill featuring lamb, sausage, and wild boar; alongside these Italian specialties, enjoy a Woodford and prosecco aperitivo, a Woodford and Branca julep, Damien Langarica’s award-winning cocktail (Woodford Reserve, Carpano sweet vermouth, Camomile grappa, and orange bitters), and an espresso after-dinner drink with Woodford.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Village Whiskey and Tinto, Jose Garces’ adjacent restaurants in Rittenhouse, will team up to serve small bites alongside several Woodford cocktails. Food will be passed throughout the room and will include classic Spanish tapas like mixed olives, shrimp & chorizo, meatballs, chicken brochette, duck confit montaditos, and more. Three whiskey-focused cocktails will be served, including a Perfect Rye Manhattan (with Carpano sweet vermouth, Carpano Bianco, and Angostura bitters), a Woodford Reserve Manhattan (the classic recipe using Carpano sweet vermouth and Village Whiskey house bitters), and the Nightcap (Woodford Double Oaked, Averna, Byrrh, Pedro Ximenez, Angostura bitters, and a Montenegro rinse). There will also be a special “Flavor Wheel” presentation to showcase all 200 flavors that can be found in Woodford.

Tickets for Monday’s Italian-inspired dinner are $68 per person (plus 18% gratuity, bringing the total to $80) and Tuesday’s event is free until the event is at capacity. Head to Center City for either or both of these events to see just how versatile Woodford Reserve can be for yourself.
