Celebrate Fall 2017 With These Baltimore Festivals

by Jennifer Waldera on Sep 26, 2017 in Roundups

We’ve already covered the Oktoberfest celebrations, but there are plenty of other drink-worthy events cropping up around Baltimore during harvest season. Here are just a few of our favorite fall flings on the horizon.

Baltimore Craft Beer Festival
Hosted by the Brewer’s Association of Maryland and supporting Strong City Baltimore, the festival on Canton’s Waterfront will feature beers from over 40 local breweries. A homebrew competition sponsored by Nepenthe Homebrew will ensue as well. Click the link for details on tickets.

Creative Alliance Lantern Parade
On Saturday October 28th, the annual festival and parade kick off in Patterson Park. One of the most popular Halloween celebrations in town, the festival features food trucks, a beer garden, hayrides, crafts, vendors, and the eventual lantern parade, a proud local tradition. Costumes are welcome.

Fells Point Fun Festival
One of the city’s most well-known fall festivals, the Fells Point festival runs from October 7 through 8th this year. The free festival hosts a number of local musicians, street food vendors, and local artisans. Expect no shortage of beverages.

Free Fall Baltimore
It’s nearly impossible to not find some festival, concert, performance, lecture or art exhibit on the list of hundreds that are featured as part of the 12th annual Free Fall Baltimore. The yearly tradition highlights the rich culture and diversity of Baltimore through the myriad free events around the city for the entire month of October.

Pigtown Festival
Saturday October 14th brings the sixteenth annual Pigtown Festival, pig races and all, to Washington Boulevard. Live musicians, craft beer, and food trucks will all be on hand. There’s a Kid Zone, too, for those looking for a family-friendly event.

Russian Festival
The annual Russian Festival is held at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church on 1723 East Fairmount Avenue, one block east of Broadway between Fells Point and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Featuring music, dancers, craft vendors, Russian karaoke andd a long list of eastern European bites, the festival runs from October 20 - 22.
