Where to Watch the Winter X Games in Denver

Ahead of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, the 19th Winter X Games kick off in Aspen, Colorado on Thurs., Jan. 23. Competitors from all over the world will compete in breathtaking skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling competitions. But here closer to home, you can catch all of the edge-of-your-seat excitement from the comfort of a barstool, while sipping some cold ones, and chomping down on tasty bar grub. Below, check out what bars in Denver will have the games on, and what kind of specials they are offering.

Stoney’s Bar and Grill: Stoney's will have the games on some of the 31 HD TVs around the place. While they won’t have any dedicated specials, you can still enjoy the daily happy hour deals which include two-for-one drafts, wells, Mike’s, Deep Eddy’s Vodka, and $4 wines.

Blake Street Tavern: If you’re hanging out downtown and want to catch some of the X Games action, you might want to stop in to Blake Street Tavern. Daily specials include $2, $3, and $4 drink specials alongside $5 appetizers until 6 PM. The beer of the month is Alaskan Amber, which you can grab for a cool $4. Sunday night for the SuperPipe Finals you can catch the late night happy hour from 10 PM-Midnight featuring $5 apps, $3 wells and domestic drafts, plus $4 craft drafts and house wines.

Chopper’s: This place has too many beers and too many TVs to count. Not really, but they do have a ton of both. With over 50 Colorado beers, you won’t have to drink the same thing twice while catching the X Games.

The Cooler: Over in Sloan’s Lake fans of the frost X Games can hang out at The Cooler and grab $3.50 Beam and Cokes or $4.50 Jameson and ginger ales all day. Happy hour happens twice a day (from 3-7 PM and again from 10-midnight) and consists of $2 domestics, $3 crafts, wells, and wines. The Cooler also boasts the state’s largest collection of canned beers, over 120 of them. Watch the games over brunch this weekend with drink specials all day on Sunday that include $2 Bud, Bud Lts, and Coors Lts.

The games run through Sun., Jan. 26, so keep checking back. We will be posting updates.
