Baltimore's Best Wine Bars

by Jennifer Waldera on May 15, 2018 in Roundups

Baltimore has plenty of great spots to sip a glass of wine at any time of year — here are a few of our favorites.

This Canton mainstay near the Can Company changed hands a couple years ago but it maintains the same laid-back ambiance with a stellar selection of handpicked unique wines you can take home or uncork there. Sip inside or at one of their outdoor tables with snacks like cheeses or flatbreads. (2400 Boston St; 410-522-4556)

Part of the Belvedere Market, this spot offers bottles to go or with a seat at the bar. Expect to find bottles as pleasantly eclectic and interesting as the crowd. (527 E Belvedere Ave; 667-212-4847)

This Hampden spot spins up its FroBlanc (a white version of the newly popular Frose) with one bottle of Riesling Kabinett and 1/4 cup of peach puree for a slushie-style wine served in a coupe glass with a splash of elderflower liqueur and a lemon peel over the top. (911 W 36th St; 443-961-8515)

Corner bars in Baltimore are typically known for tap beers and cocktails, but this small spot in Little Italy serves exclusively Italian wines with small but hearty bites for noshing. (301 S Exeter St; 410-727-8191)

Fells Point has no shortage of beer and cocktails, but this waterfront wine shop with outdoor seating is one of the few spots in Fells to find high quality, interesting wine at affordable prices with a fantastic view. (905 S Ann St; 410-342-8466)

When looking for wine to sip in warm weather or otherwise, we’ll always refer to a Certified Sommelier, and where better to find one than at the Four Seasons? Dawn Trabing, now at Wit and Wisdom, has a few recommendations from Wit’s menu for Wine Day, and who can disagree with anything coming from the lush, yet diverse, valleys of France, Oregon, and Virginia? (200 International Drive; 410-576-5800
