One Stop Shop: Farmers Markets Where You Can Buy Wine, Mead and Beer With Your Farm Fresh Fare

We look forward to the opening of Baltimore’s farmer’s markets every year to get our hands on the freshest local produce, meats, salsas, sauces, pickles, coffee… you name it. But in recent years, we’ve started to see an increase in some of our other favorite products (wine, mead, cider and beer, of course) show up at these spots too.

Here are a handful of local markets and the wineries, meaderies and breweries you can expect to see selling bottles (and sometimes even a glass or two to enjoy while you’re shopping). Cheers to spring!

Fell’s Point Farmers Market

Saturdays, 7:30 AM–12:30 PM
May–November

Kick-off the weekend by strolling around the Fell’s Point Farmers Market in Broadway Square and pick up wine from either Fiore or Linganore (or both--we’re not judging). Of course, the small neighborhood is chock full of bars and restaurants where you can also sneak in a boozy brunch, or just get your day-drinking started early.

Pratt Street Farmers Market

Thursdays, 11 AM–2 PM

May 7–September 24

This Thursday afternoon market is perfect for the downtown work crowd. Linganore Winery has a booth, as well as Western Maryland’s Knob Hall Winery and Silver Spring’s Great Shoals, who produces both wine and cider. This market is located at the corner of Pratt and Light Street.

Baltimore Farmers Market and Bazaar

Sundays, 7 AM–Noon

April 5–December 20

Easily the largest farmers market in Baltimore, this is the place to be in Baltimore on Sunday morning. We love that local Boordy Vineyards is here, but we’re also excited that Millstone Cellars is in attendance, now saving us a trip out to Monkton to stock up on cider and mead. (That said, the gorgeous Millstone cellar and tasting room is worth a visit). This market is located under the Jones Falls Expressway at Holliday and Saratoga Street.

Towson Farmers Market
Thursdays, 10:45 AM–3 PM
June 11–October 29

This market on Washington Avenue might not open for another couple weeks, but it’s a great place to pick up some fresh treats over your lunch break. Now, Boordy Vineyards is also on hand to make sure you don’t have to stop at the liquor store after work on Thursday night. Perfection.

Tuesday Market in Lauraville
Tuesdays, 4–8 PM
June 2–September 29

Congratulate yourself on getting through the first part of the work week with a bottle or two from DeJon Vineyards at this weeknight market. Find this market at 4500 Harford Road.

Good Life Thursdays at Boordy Vineyards

Thursdays, 3–7 PM

May–October

Grab a glass of wine and cruise through the market for products to take home, or bring your blanket and make a picnic out of the prepared foods (we love Brick ‘n’ Fire’s pizza truck) while listening to the live music. Boordy Vineyards is located at 12820 Long Green Pike in Hydes.

Union Graze Farmers Market

Every Other Friday, 5–8 PM
June-October

Behind Artifact Coffee in Hampden, this market is a happy-hour-meets-market mashup with plenty of food and other products from local vendors and a backdrop of live local bands. Union Craft Brewing is on hand with some suds to swill while shopping.
