Best Bars: Pratt Street Ale House

Since it’s located across the street from the Baltimore Convention Center, Pratt Street is frequented by out-of-towners, but its lineup of award-winning house ales, produced under the Oliver Ales imprint by brewmaster Steve Jones, is a quick reminder that this is no tourist trap.

Hunker down somewhere along the big outdoor patio to knock a few back; while standards like the Amber, Irish Red, Ironman Pale or Blonde are reliable, pay particular attention to Jones’ creative and oft-risky seasonals and one-offs. The daily 4–7 PM happy hour sees a rotating $3 draft plus several other deals (206 W. Pratt St.; 410-224-8900).
