Oyamel Cocina Mexicana Celebrates Its Sixth-Annual Tequila & Mezcal Festival

Innovated chef José Andrés is introducing a new cocktail lounge at Oyamel Cocina Mexicana for the sixth annual Tequila & Mezcal festival, which celebrates the heritage of these unique Mexican spirits. During the two-week festival, Oyamel will offer Tequila and Mezcal tastings, which are open to the public. The restaurant will also feature a series of intimate dinners with visiting Tequila and Mezcal experts, who will share their knowledge on the spirits, and lead the special gatherings and tastings. The Tequila and Mezcal tastings will be held Monday-Thursday from 4 PM to 6 PM throughout the two-week festival. Following the tastings, Oyamel will host an intimate dinner series with featured guests. Special tastings and dinners schedule is as follows: Monday June 17th: Eduardo Belaunzara Vanessa Musi, Wahaka Mezcal tasting with dinner to follow
Tuesday June 18th Misty Kalkofen of Del Maguey Mezcal tasting with dinner to follow
Wednesday June 19th: Nick Crutchfield of Tequila Ocho and Pierde Almas Mezcal tasting
Thursday June 20th Richard Molina Tequila Real and Bonard Molina of Ranhez Mezcal tasting with dinner to follow
Monday June 24 David Suro of Siembra Azul tasting with dinner to follow
Wednesday June 26 Lauren Richmond of Herradura Tequila tasting with dinner to follow with Richard Ambrose
Thursday June 27th Arik Torren of Fidencio Mezcal tasting Tastings are open to the public with the purchase a $10 pass available by calling the restaurant. Dinners are priced at $90 per person (tax and gratuity not included) and begin at 8 PM.
