Mid-Atlantic Championship at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, May 30-June 2
Whether or not you go gaga over golf, the four-day Mid-Atlantic Championship at TPC Potomac looks like a great weekend activity outside for very little dough. The golf tournament is a stop on the Web.com tour, and will see 2012 tournament champ David Lingmerth defend his title. If the name sounds slightly familiar to golf fans, he was runner up to Tiger Woods a couple of weeks ago at The Players Championship, and almost beat him for the win.
So why would you care about the event even if you’re not a huge golf fan? You can get into the tournament for just $10 per day, or $25 for all four days (tickets here). The golf course is on the gorgeous grounds of Avenel Farm, just 20 minutes outside of D.C. and around 45 minutes from Baltimore, and during the event it will be host to a non-stop catered party.
Under Armour is sponsoring the happy hour Pride Pavilion, with food and beer for sale and lawn games to play. There will be DJs spinning there from 4–7 PM on both Thursday and Friday and a live band on Saturday from 4:30–8 PM. If golf is “a walk in the park with something to do,” think of this as a happy hour with something interesting to watch!
