When you need a ride, simply fire up Lyft, and a map displaying the locations of the nearest drivers will open. Tap to request a ride, and it will give you the drivers name, and his or her ratings by previous passengers. It gives you a picture of the driver and the car too.

Another Lyft perk? You don’t have to have cash or even a credit card on hand. You’ve already provided your payment info when you signed up. When the trip is complete, payment is made through the app in the form of a suggested donation based on the time and distance of the ride. Your account will be charged automatically and you’ll get an emailed receipt.
