Just like Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas and Kwanzaa, rock 'n roll cats and kittens all over the Charm City wait with bated breath each year in anticipation of the return of
Night of 100 ELVISes.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the annual rite, which celebrates the life and music of the King of Rock 'n Roll himself, Elvis Aaron Presley.
Both nights of the two day celebration will feature more than 20 bands and entertainers performing popular numbers from the Elvis songbook on stage in Lithuanian Hall's ballroom. Not one single song will be repeated the entire weekend. In addition to the acts in the ballroom, the joyous sounds of Elvis will ring out from the hall's Elvis Lounge and Jungle Room too.
And along with the parade of hits, both evenings will have complimentary Southern-Style cocktail hors d'oeuvres served in the Pool Room. Best of all, host
Heavy Seas will be on hand to pour
free beers. A cash bar will have cocktails, wine and bottled beer. Soft drinks will be available for designated drivers and teetotalers. Additional food options will be for sale from
Kommie Pig BBQ, which will offer an assortment of barbecue chicken, pork and hot dogs.
General admission tickets run $57 for each night, and $103 for both. Reserved seats cost $82.70, and a tables for 10 are available for $824.20. Check the
Night of 100 ELVISes website for ticketing details. And do it soon before the whole things gets sold out.
