Try a Beer From a Different State Each Week with Leinenkugel's 50 States of Beer Event
If, like us, you’ve toyed with the idea of road tripping for the sheer pleasure of trying brews from each of the fifty states, you are in luck. Apparently, Leinenkugel’s Beer Garden has read our collective minds.
Beginning Thursday, July 17, Leinenkugel’s is featuring brews from a different state every week for the next year. Each Thursday, at least one brewery from a specified state will be featured with multiple beers on tap. Additionally, food specials will be available each Thursday night that pair with the home state of the brewery (think: lobster for Maine, crab for Maryland…).
For those of you math experts at home reading today, yes, there are 52 weeks in a year, and only 50 states in the U.S.. What’s a beer garden to do, you say? Thankfully, Leinie’s is way ahead of us all, and has already chosen at least one non-state to be represented, and are boldly featuring it at the premier event. Though there may be taxation without representation in our nation’s capitol, there will not be libations without representation here in Baltimore. Yes, Washington D.C. is the home of the brewery featured on July 17 that will kick off this event.
DC Brau, headed up by Brewmaster Jeff Hancock and co-owner Brandan Skall, blends North American and European techniques and ingredients to create their award winning craft brews. Since their beers are claimed to be equally well paired with what might be enjoyed at a campsite or barbecue, as well as inside with a sturdy winter meal, we are excited to see what food specials will be on offer this Thursday.
After the first night, Leinenkugel’s Beer Garden will post on their Facebook page each week to share the state and brewery to be highlighted the coming Thursday. Take a peek each week here.
