First Annual Canton Seafood Festival Takes Place September 20

First Annual Canton Seafood Festival Takes Place September 20

While we’ve been cracking crabs and steaming shrimp all summer, there’s certainly no reason to stop when the cooler air makes its way into Charm City. In fact, just before the calendar tells us it’s autumn this year, Baltimore will welcome its first annual Seafood Festival on the waterfront in Canton.

On September 20, chefs from top eateries around Baltimore (Aggio, Cafe Gia, Atwater’s, Barcocina, and many more) will be showcasing their talents in the form of savory seafood samples and cooking demos. Live music and family friendly activities and entertainment will grace the park as well.

However, while seafood may seem like the star of the event, everyone knows those crabs should be picked next to the likes of an Old Bay covered can of Natty Boh, and event organizer Beth Laverick has ensured that will be the case.

For beer enthusiasts, domestics like Bud Light and National Bohemian will be available while those who prefer a craft brew can sip on selections from local brewer Full Tilt. In addition, other favorites like Red Stripe and Brooklyn Lager will be served.

Wine and cocktail lovers fear not - you will find your favorite libations as well. We’ll have to exercise a little patience about specifics, with details still being nailed down, but we do know that bartenders from around Baltimore will be shaking and stirring at the festival, and at least four types of wine will be available at the half dozen or more stands around the event.

Since we’re pretty sure we’re not the only ones who like to sip al fresco and waterfront with access to some of the most delectable dishes from Baltimore’s top culinary talent, you might want to purchase a ticket sooner rather than later. Packages for the festival range from the very simple at $29 for individuals, all the way up to pretty impressive VIP packages (access to a private VIP bar!) and group choices as well.
