Germany's Oliver Struempfel Sets New World Beer-Carrying Record

For anyone who has ever carried a stein before, you know how heavy those things are. Now imagine carrying 27 of them, all full of beer. That’s how Oliver Struempfel, a 38-year old tax inspector from Germany, shattered the world record for carrying the most beer mugs.
Weighing in at five pounds per mug, Struempfel carried the one-liter mugs a distance of 130 feet at the Gillamoos beer festival in Abensberg. He admitted to Reuters that he had plenty of experience carrying the mugs because he worked in a beer tent for the past 17 years, and that he also trained at a fitness center for months prior to taking on the challenge.
