Old Westminster Winery made a big splash with its many Governor’s Cup medals this year, including a Best in Class award for its Greenstone 2014 white blend. However, the winery isn’t finished making news, with their newly built expansive tasting room opening on the horizon.

On November 7, Old Westminster Winery will unveil its new 2,200 square foot tasting room with regular hours on Friday from 4–9 PM, Saturday from 12–9 PM, and Sunday from 12–5 PM.

The family-run winery opened in 2010 and now manages 10,000 vines while still cultivating their grapes by hand.

“We achieved our primary goal of growing and producing delicious, award winning wines, and now we are able to celebrate a new gathering place for the community and tourists alike. It is our hope that people will come here to relax and unwind, connect with each other, or maybe even host a wedding or special occasion," said Old Westminster co-founder, Drew Baker. He added, “Our family has worked so hard to bring our dream to reality, and we are excited to share our passion for winemaking with others.”“

The new tasting room has a classy and contemporary atmosphere that purposefully retains the spirit of the Carroll County countryside. With colorful warmth and comfortable inside seating, a large tasting bar, and an outdoor covered area with tables and chairs, the new digs are spacious enough to accommodate large parties and events while still being a cozy spot for couples or groups to sit and sip on a weekend afternoon.

Bottles are affordably priced in the $20 to $30+ range, and opening weekend will feature live music and a complimentary glass of wine. Visitors can always get wines by the glass, bottle, flight, or enjoy tastings.
