Urban Light Hosts Pop-Up Thai Dinner at Wit & Wisdom for #GivingTuesday, Dec. 1

Urban Light Hosts Pop-Up Thai Dinner at Wit & Wisdom for #GivingTuesday, Dec. 1

Like the 30s are the new 20s, pop-up meals are the new dining experience. But this #GivingTuesday there’s an especially important pop-up dinner in Baltimore.

Chef Zack Mills has partnered with Alezandra Russell of Urban Light, an organization dedicated to empowering boys in need in Thailand, to host a collaborative chef pop-up dinner at Wit & Wisdom. Two other locally known and well-regarded chefs, Tim Dyson and Cyrus Keefer, along with Pastry Chef Dyan Ng, will join Mills to support the cause and create a Five-Course Thai Dinner with dessert and wine pairings on Tuesday, December 1, with all proceeds benefitting Urban Light.

The Asian-influenced cuisine, plus wine pairings, will include:

First Course, Zachary Mills
Chicken Larb Gai, little gem lettuce, chili, mint, cucumber paired with Chanrion ‘Effervescence’ Brut – Rhône, France

Second Course, Cyrus Keefer
Squid Pad Thai, sweet pork sausage, asian pear, pine nuts, cilantro paired with Kesseler ‘R’ Riesling Kabinett – Pfalz, Germany 2013

Third Course, Timothy Dyson
Tamarind Lacquered Pork, charred mushroom salad, sour chili sauce, crispy pork skin paired with Vinoterra Kisi – Kakheti, Republic of Georgia 2012

Fourth Course, Zachary Mills
Roasted Duck Breast, crispy rice cake, red curry, lychee, thai basil paired with Analemma Gewürztraminer – Columbia Gorge, Washington 2012

Fifth Course, Dyan Ng
Coconut with Mango paired with El Maestro Sierra Amontillado 12 yr, Orgeat, Killepitsch, sherry vinegar

Urban Light’s mission is to bring awareness to the overlooked homeless and trafficked population of boys in Thailand, specifically in the Chiang Mai community. Tickets for this dinner are $100 per ticket and all proceeds benefit the Urban Light foundation. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
