Hamilton is Getting Its Own Beer
According to FWx, the insanely popular Broadway hit Hamilton, which recently made Tony Award history with a record-shattering 16 nominations and won a Pulitzer Prize, is also getting its own beer.
Mark Aldrich and Jimmy Ludwig, two Broadway actors who founded the Broadway Brews Project, teamed up with members of the Hamilton cast and crew along with the Bronx’s Gun Hill Brewery to create the Rise Up Rye, a nod to the prevalence of rye in the colonial United States.
Though the beer will certainly be easier to get than actual tickets to Hamilton, it’s only available at select bars in New York currently, and part of the brew’s proceeds will benefit Graham Windham, a charity founded by Alexander Hamilton’s wife Eliza. You can also purchase bottles directly from Gun Hill, so head there if you’re in the area — after seeing how much Hamilton tickets are re-selling for, you’ll likely need a drink anyway.
