Baltimore, historically, is the place where people find their go-to haunts to drink and dine, and stick with them. However, in the restaurant renaissance that has occurred in the last several years, diners and drinkers are branching out and it’s become almost imprudent to not follow the advice of the likes of some of Charm City’s top Instagrammers about their favorite new spots.

This new-ish concept, devised by several of Baltimore’s most popular food pic posters (@bmore_hungry, @liketheteaeats, and @jzeats) pairs wine and food in intimate spaces on a monthly basis. The event often occurs at some of Baltimore’s most recently-opened spots, and gives patrons the opportunity to nosh on small plates that sample the space’s cuisine, along with drink pairings, without the usual commitment of full dining at a new-to-you restaurant.  

At the most recent event at Cava Mezze, the first half hour featured a cocktail time with a variety of housemade Greek-style dips and a glass of appropriately paired wine chosen by the restaurant. Later, the several dozen diners were invited to sit communal-style, where they dove into the remaining six courses.

The next Tapas in the City event will be at Points South in Fells Point on October 25 and 26. The menu, entirely gluten-free, includes the following (with wine pairings, naturally):
