Try the New Traveler Saison At Brew House No. 16
Just over a year ago, Brew House No. 16 opened its doors as one of Charm City’s newest breweries, a destination for craft cocktails, and a spot for top-notch nosh from impressive small plates to heartier mains.
Not ready to settle for just pouring from the taps, the family owned brewery, with a last name that is synonymous with bumble bee, is producing the newest buzz. The Traveler, a house rendition of a sour saison - a highly carbonated pale ale that is generally around 7% ABV - is the brewery’s first bottled beer.
The earthy, citrusy Traveler has flavors of tart apples and a “delicate sourness with a touch of funk” and is named for the barrels in which the beer has been brewed. First charred and used for bourbon in the South, the barrels were then used locally for aging mead, and eventually found their way to Brew House No 16.
