Pappy Van Winkle is Releasing a 25-Year-Old Bourbon
The holy grail of whiskies, Pappy van Winkle, is producing a new and extremely limited edition 25-year old version of its famously hard-to-get bourbon, according to Men’s Journal.
Only 710 bottles of this incredibly rare whiskey will even be produced, and at $1,800 per bottle retail price, it’s pretty unlikely that the average customer will be able to get a bottle (regulars tend to lay claim to Pappy as soon as a release is announced). That being said, this bourbon is rare and expensive for good reasons. Just 11 barrels were declared high-quality enough to be sold as Pappy 25-Year, and the distillery has called this particular whiskey a “once in a lifetime offering.” The barrels themselves have also been moved throughout the past 25 years, which means that they and the whiskey inside of them are technically collector’s items from the original Pappy distillery.
