Celebrate Spring at the Decanter Wine & Racing Festival, April 8

On Saturday, April 8 from 12 PM - 6 PM, Laurel Park Race Course will play home to the Decanter Wine and Racing Festival, kicking off this year’s horseracing season with a nod to Marylanders’ other great love: local wine.

Just over a month before this year’s Triple Crown competition begins, the race track in Laurel will host the 7th annual Decanter Wine Festival with wineries from throughout Maryland doling out samples while bets are placed on the ponies and local food stops serve up snacks. If the decadence of copious amounts of wine, food, and betting isn’t enough, there are plenty of opportunities for spending with vendors of candles, oil and vinegars, jewelry, art, and clothes.
 
In addition, there are high stakes for haute couture. Enter the competition for best-dressed. The winner will receive two tickets to a future Maryland Wine event and a pair of Black-Eyed Susan Day Flute Club tickets.
 
General admission tickets are $30 in advance ($35 at the door) and include admission to the event and tastings throughout the day. The Decanter Pass VIP tickets are $50 in advance ($55 at the door) and include an upgraded wine glass and samples of exclusive Decanter wines from each attending winery including new releases, limited productions, premium label wines and more!  Designated driver/youth tickets are $20 and kids under 10 are free. On-site parking is free and the event will take place rain or shine.
