Where to Celebrate Mother's Day 2017 in Baltimore
We’d all be lying if we said we hadn’t given our mothers more than a few reasons to drink, right? Now that we’re “attempting to be” adults, it’s time to treat her to those beverages, and there are more than a few spots in Baltimore ready to pour for the moms who have given their hearts and souls (and livers) to us.
B&O American Brasserie
Take Mom for an overnight stay at the Hotel Monaco, or just pop in for the holiday’s brunch with an early buffet featuring breakfast breads, eggs, meats, and fruit from 8 AM - 10 AM, or the later expanded offerings after 10 am with the likes of fried chicken, ratatouille, an omelet station, and sweets as well as $15 bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys. The Elephant
If Mom’s from Baltimore, she may remember the Brass Elephant. If she hasn’t seen its newest iteration already, take the opportunity to treat Mom to see the total transformation of one of Baltimore’s most memorable restaurant spaces. From 11 AM until the last seating at 6 PM, settle in (after, perhaps, a brief walk-through) and enjoy a specially created Mother’s Day brunch/dinner menu featuring items like Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, Seared Tuna Nicoise, Jerusalem Artichoke & Spring Onion Soup, Asparagus Risotto, Ricotta Ravioli, Cedar Plank Salmon, and a selection of decadent desserts. Mom deserves some decadence, and who serves it up better than the French? Reserve a table at the gorgeously appointed French Kitchen at the Lord Baltimore Hotel and treat Mom to starters like stuffed mushrooms with lump crab, gruyere, and breadcrumbs or chilled strawberry bisque with fresh mint, wildflower honey, and balsamic vinegar and mains including decadent Croque Monsieur, Quiche St. Michael’s with lump crab, asparagus, tomato and swiss cheese, or sweet brioche french toast. Points South Latin Kitchen
This popular Thames Street spot in Fells will be hosting the Points South Drag Brunch for two shows at 11 am and 2pm. The 2 pm show is already sold out, but the 11 am show is still available. At $25 per person the (not-kid-friendly!) event includes a buffet brunch and show. Drinks are on special with $2 mimosas, $3 red sangrias, and $4 Bloody Marys. In case you miss out, there will also be a Drag Brunch on Father's Day (also 2 shows) as the official anchor to Gay Pride. All shows are a benefit for The Trevor Project. This popular waterfront spot is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch with salads and starters, freshly carved meats, main items, a raw bar, and assorted desserts for $52.95 (adults) and $26.95 (children 10 yrs and under). Included in the price are sodas, iced tea, coffee, tea, and juices as well as Champagne, mimosas, bellinis and their signature red sangria.
