The Rose Craze Continues with Rose Tequila
2017 has been all about the rosé, even more than the last few years. Whether you're drinking it from a 40, ordering it from a drive-thru, or eating it in ice-cream, people cannot seem to get enough pink wine. Recently, it’s moved into the realm of liquor, with a rosé inspired gin from New York, and now Código 1530 Rosa, a rose hued tequila which gets its color from California wines.
Código 1530 Rosa begins as a blanco tequila before being aged in uncharred Napa Valley Cabernet French Oak barrels, which lend it a delicate pink flush. It was, for generations, a private release, shared at family gatherings in Mexico. Now the spirit has been released for distribution in Mexico as well as the US, with bars in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, and more using it in cocktails. It’s currently available in 18 states, with a suggested retail of $60. You can find available locations at the Código website, as well as a number of fun, refreshing recipes, perfect for the end of summer.
