While resort wear may be all over the retail racks, not all of us can cruise away from the weekly bouts of wintry weather. However, there are a few cocktails around town with enough tropical flavor to evoke the feeling of being on vacation... and enough booze to possibly forget about those frozen pipes.
BoatHouse Canton
The original Orange Crush made popular on Maryland’s Eastern Shore sparked a trend that has resulted in seemingly endless varieties of crushes around Baltimore. BoatHouse Canton’s Pineapple Crush, with fresh squeezed pineapple juice, Smirnoff pineapple vodka, and club soda, though, may be one of the most tropical style versions.

A pizza joint in the middle of the city might seem like a long shot for finding tropical cocktails but Joe Squared’s long list of rum options makes it a perfect place to find a summery style drink. The Rum Runner with Cruzan dark rum, blackberry liqueur, banana liqueur, grenadine, orange and pineapple juices, soda water, and a floater of Cruzan Black Strap rum is one option - or go local with the Baltimore Punch with their house spiced rum with triple sec, fresh squeezed lemon juice, orange juice and grenadine.
