We thought it was just a bit of luck of the Irish when St. Patrick’s Day fell on a Saturday, but now we’re feeling particularly fortunate as springtime weather joins forces with two day-drink worthy holidays on the same Saturday, the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo. There will be no shortage of celebrations in the city on the first weekend of May.
The waterfront Canton bar is celebrating Cinco with $3 tacos, $4 Coronas, $5 margaritas, $15 buckets and $6 Casa Noble crushes, rose sangria, and palomas. (2809 Boston St; 410-773-9795)
Sip and snack on Cinco specials on the rooftop at LB Skybar to the backdrop of a mariachi band from 4-7 PM. (20 W Baltimore St; 410-539-8400)
Federal Hill Fiesta
Sponsored by BMORE Around Town, One Star Country Club, Wayward Smokehouse, Blue Agave, and Banditos Bar & Kitchen—the Federal Hill Fiesta is an outdoor celebration at the Purple Tailgate Lot. From 12-10 PM there will be live music, Mexican street food, and specialty drinks. Tickets purchased ahead of time range from $8-$10 and can be purchased
here. Walk-up tickets the day of the event will be $15.

This Cuban-inspired waterfront bar on the west side of the Harbor hosts an annual Cinco party with the expected margaritas, music, and brews as well as a few donkeys. No cover charge. (1325 Key Hwy, Baltimore; 410-837-9903)
This market will be hosting a Mexican festival with a live mariachi band and specials from vendors including: fish tacos from The Local Oyster; $6 margaritas at Cultured; $5 tequila shots and $5 sangria (red, rose, and white) at Pinch; churros and Tres Leche cake from Edible favors by Denis; $5 tequila shots (with Tart Cherry Kombucha Chaser) from Taps Fill Station; and a creative South American twist on poutine, Oaxaca-tine, for $10 at Between2Buns. (520 Park Ave; 443-796-7393)
This tequila bar in Power Plant Live! will be featuring festivities all day from pinatas with prizes to taco eating contests and live music to salsa lessons as well as a number of other games and competitions. There will be live music from a mariachi band as well as Mambo Combo and drinks like margaritas, beer, and sangria. Papi’s Taco’s, Alexander’s Tavern, Sandlot and other vendors will be on hand with festive food for the event.
