by Jennifer Waldera on May 1, 2018 in Roundups

If you suspect that you’re the reason your mom drinks, it might be a charitable gesture to take her out for a few on your tab on this holiday that celebrates her. From upscale prix fixe menus to buffets with options for bottomless bloody's, there’s no shortage of options to celebrate Mom in Charm City.

On the 16th floor of The Residence Inn at Johns Hopkins Medical Campus, the newest rooftop restaurant in Baltimore will serve Mother’s Day Brunch from 11:30 AM–2:30 PM. The special brunch menu includes lobster omelet, stuffed french toast, eggs benedict, oven roasted ham, seared scallops and grilled tuna alongside drink specials on mimosas, bloody mary's, and seasonal sangria. (800 N Wolfe St)

If mom digs creative cocktails or loves a quality wine selection, the brunch at B&O may be the place to go. From 10 AM -3 PM, B&O’s Mother’s day brunch buffet will feature a wide array sweet and savory breakfast and lunch options from Build-Your-Own waffles and an omelet station to grilled tenderloin and roasted porchetta. $40 Adults / $15 children. Gunther & Co. is offering two specialty cocktails to wash down brunch on Mother’s Day—one boozy and without the booze. The Pajama Party (Gruet Brut Sparkling, Singani “63”, passion fruit) and the Rose of Althea (housemade hibiscus shrub,  lime juice, soda water). (3650 Toone St; 443-869-6874)
Like its counterpart, Birroteca, Nickel Taphouse will also be serving their regular brunch menu, some specials to celebrate the day, and $15 bottomless bloodys, mimosas and Evolution drafts. (1604 Kelly Ave; 443-869-6240)

The Mother’s Day Jazz Brunch at this Inner Harbor mainstay will celebrate Mother’s Day with a brunch of made-to-order omelets, seared ahi tuna, shrimp and scallop macaroni and cheese, almond crusted salmon with lemon butter sauce, cheese tortellini with crab meat alfredo, carving stations, an assorted fruit display, in addition to the staples of their impressive regular Jazz Brunch menu.  Moms can sip on champagne, mimosas, Bellini’s or Rusty Scupper’s signature sangria. $54.95 for adult and $27.95 for children 10 years and under. Reservations are required and can be made for one of three seatings: 9:30/9:45 AM, 11/11:15 AM, and 1/1:15 PM.

Wit and Wisdom
Chef Zack Mills will be preparing a decadent buffet spread for Mother’s Day. Start with a chilled shrimp cocktail and fresh shucked Chesapeake oysters and a selection of artisan cheeses and charcuterie before visiting a number of action stations such as omelets made to order, build-your-own sweet or savory crepe, as well as a prime rib carving station. Little ones can feast at a special kids bar featuring kid-friendly favorites like mac ‘n’ cheese, PB&J and chicken tenders.

Reservations for Mother’s Day brunch are available from 9 AM-2 PM for $74 and $34 for children ages 5-12. Brunch will also include optional bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's for $14 per person. (200 International Drive; 410-576-5800)
