Baltimore's Coolest Rooftop Bars for Summer Drinking

by Jennifer Waldera on Jul 31, 2019 in Roundups

Whether it’s on warm summer nights or with the briskness of spring and fall evenings, drinking is often at its best when it’s al fresco. Libations from lofty locations further up the ante on the outdoor drinking ambiance.

This classy corner spot in Brewer’s Hill is as easily a date-night destination as it is the place for girls’ night out or a professional happy hour. The wine list is impressive and cocktails will not disappoint. (938 S Conkling St; 443-388-9363)

There are few better water views than from the Four Seasons Hotel in Harbor East. The Bygone takes it up a notch with its views from far above the harbor. Travel up to this top floor bar and restaurant for one of the most upscale waterfront drinking experiences in Baltimore. (Note: proper attire required.) (400 International Drive 29th floor; 443-343-8200)

Canton sports plenty of corner bars, and plenty of rooftop decks, but The Chasseur combines them both. Go for the rooftop bar, stay for the bountiful booze. (3328 Foster Ave; 410-327-6984)

LB Skybar
This downtown rooftop bar sits atop the Lord Baltimore Hotel and serves up quality cocktails alongside a number of affordable noshes. The loungy outdoor seating is comfortable, and the views are Insta-worthy. (20 W Baltimore St; 410-539-8400)

On top of the The Residence Inn in the neighborhood of Eager Park, this spot adjacent to Johns Hopkins Medical Campus serves up affordable beer and wine, mixes creative cocktails with local liquors and house infused spirits, and offers a plentiful selection of seafood dishes. (800 N Wolfe St.; 443-524-8450)

Topside
On the top level of Hotel Revival, previously the Peabody Court Hotel, this new-ish bustling bar is busy thanks to its quality cocktail program and gorgeous view of Mt. Vernon through its floor-to-ceiling windows. Shelves of games and the creative menu also draw diners and drinkers. (101 W Monument St; 410-727-7101)

While it's only a few stories up, Woody’s in Fells Point has one of the best water views from this quaint but lively side of town. The Painkiller is the drink to choose (in our opinion), but make sure to soak that up with their southwestern style sandwiches, starters, or tacos. (821 S Broadway; 410-563-6600)
