To Your Health: Breast Cancer Charity Drink Specials
Aside from being the prime time for Oktoberfests, pumpkin ales and Halloween, October is also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Several area bars and restaurants are helping raise money and awareness with charity donation specials. Check out several ways you can drink to health, literally!
In Canton, Blue Hill Tavern is supporting the fight by donating $1 from every glass and $5 from every bottle of Chandon sold through October 31. Additionally, the chic-but-casual New American wants us all to know that if each new “like” Chandon’s Facebook page gets this month means one more dollar donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NCBF), so get clicking and clinking (938 S. Conkcling St.; 443-388-9363).
Harbor East’s RA Sushi teamed up with California’s ONEHOPE to create a wine and sushi combo deal, which will be offered all month for just $15, with 100 percent of the profits will go to the NCBF. The special maki features shrimp, crab mix and Sriracha (it’s kind of pink, right?) with lettuce, avocado and cucumber, wrapped up in pink soy paper alongside pink strawberry sauce. It comes with a glass of Chardonnay from ONEHOPE, which donates half of all proceeds to charity, all year long (1390 Lancaster St.; 410-522-3200).
The Pink Menu at Sullivan’s Steakhouse on Pratt Street is a three-course dinner priced at $40 offered throughout October. The menu features multiple choices for appetizer, entree and dessert, with $5 from each meal going to the NCBF. Optional wine pairings are also available; $1 from each glass or $5 from each bottle of Chandon Rose Brut or Terrazas de los Andes Malbec sold will also be donated (1 E. Pratt St.; 410-962-5503).
