Best Bars: The Brewer's Art
Baltimore’s seminal brewpub, The Brewer’s Art carves a sharp silhouette in Mount Vernon, dealing out goblets in a chandeliered 19th-century townhome with more places to sit than a Showcase Showdown. Though many opt for the stalwart house ales — Ozzy, Proletary, the rotating, astrology-themed Zodiac and of course the ever-popular Resurrection (available in bottles and cans) — Brewer’s Art also taps a number of seasonal brews and offers a Euro-focused bottle list full up with Belgian, German and Italian treasures.
Regular beer dinners and events and a lively bar crowd cement Brewer’s as the ideal launchpad for a many-beered Baltimore evening. As we noted in a recent review, happy hour is 4–7 PM most days, except Sunday and Monday, when it stretches from 5 or 4 PM (respectively) all the way to close (1106 N. Charles St.; 410-547-6925).
