Best Bars: Max's Taphouse
With its constantly evolving 140-tap selection and primo Fells Point real estate, Max’s is the Death Star of the Baltimore beer scene, pouring more options than anywhere else in the city while maintaining fierce loyalty to locals like Heavy Seas, Flying Dog and Stillwater.
With two levels stuffed full of some of the most clever beer décor and kitschiest seating around (taking the wheel of the fake Ravens bus is the only DUI we abide), Max’s is both a bar crawl imperative and a gameday failsafe (more TVs than Best Buy’s plasma section). Mondays suck everywhere, but they suck a little less here – they run happy hour all day (737 S. Broadway; 410-675-6297).
