Forgotten Cocktail Club with Brendan Dorr, Oct 28
B&O Brasserie bartender and cocktail consultant around town Brendan Dorr watched the trend of “pop-up” dinners and flash restaurants with interest. Why not a pop-up bar, he wondered? This Friday, October 28, the first of what he hopes will be a recurring event will occur, when he and fellow ‘tender John Blair take over the downstairs bar at Maisy’s from 7 PM–1 AM.
The Forgotten Cocktail Club will be a speakeasy-style gathering, featuring both classic cocktails and new takes on traditional favorites. Drinks on offer will include the Blind Tiger’s (a twist on a Manhattan named after the old slang term for an underground booze establishment), the Dainty Ladies and a Pigtown Punch.
Ragtime and New Orleans blues and jazz will help set the tone, along with slideshows on all the TVs showing old-time, Prohibition-era images. No cover is required, and the pay-as-you-go cocktails will be available for $8–$12. Head over to Charles Street for some pop-up drinking fun.
