We're definitely already fans of Alonso’s in Roland Park, thanks to its 200-plus beer list (plus a great selection of rotating drafts) and the more than 25 topping combos for the signature one-pound burger. Recently, we heard about something even better – free oysters!

Every Thursday, sit at the bar during happy hour (4–7 PM) and receive plates with half-a-dozen freshly shucked bivalves, just because. Most of the time you don’t even need to ask; bartenders freely offer up the sweet and briny snacks, unless they happen to get busy. In that case, just put in a request, and more fresh shellfish will be brought out, complete with fresh lemon and cocktail sauce.

The special has been running for close to a year, but even the managers admit not a lot of folks are taking advantage. Don’t sleep on free oysters – see you there on Thursday?
