Homework: What to Drink With What You Eat
I happened upon this book a few years ago, given to me as a Christmas gift from my mother. I was pretty thrilled that when I had said I was "looking for books about food pairing," she managed to come across this aptly-named volume.
What to Drink With What You Eat by Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page explores a staggering amount of information about food pairing, and it doesn't just stop at wine. There is an entire section about choosing the proper beverage to go with your meal, ranging from beer to tea, coffee to water. It has a section for how to properly taste your beverages, and more importantly, how best to select beverages that will compliment, rather than overpower the flavors of your meal.
This book is readily available online and in any book store. It's a bit of a dense read, but it's something cool to pick up and read a chapter of every now and then. I guarantee you'll learn something you didn't know before, or at least will get a pretty valuable piece of advice.
