Baltimore vs. Boston: Best Beer Bars Edition
In preparation for the Ravens' Sunday AFC Conference Championship game, comparisons between the Patriots’ hometown and our beloved city have been popping up like corks in a bad batch of sangria. We thought we’d pit the two head-to-head where it really counts, craft beer bar vs. craft beer bar.
In another recent national roundup, MSN plucked just one from each of our cities, anointing Max’s in B’more and Sunset Grill in Beantown tops. They cite “100 or so” taps at Max’s verus to 114 at Sunset Grill, but also note that the latter is “More a shiny, happy bar-restaurant concept than a mega-tapped beer joint.”
We checked out the website for the Puritan City spot, and it sealed our win. Compared to the classy, easy to navigate Maxs.com, the Sunset Grill website is a mess. The all-Flash site is confusing-looking, with a busy design and difficult to find info. There’s nothing better than the ease of which you can find out which casks you can help drain at Max’s on any given night.
Beer bar advantage? Baltimore, by a yard. GO RAVENS!
