Starting at 9 AM, hand over a $5 cover to snag a seat and receive free pancakes all day long. At 10 AM the live music begins, courtesy of the Bumpin’ Uglies (we’re told the sound is similar to Sublime), revving up the party atmosphere.

The fun really starts when you get to choose what you’ll be sipping to accompany the gratis grub. General manager Chris Mabe has been working on the beer selections for the event for a while, and gave us some preview of what will be available on the tavern’s 40 taps.

When he started as a bartender there three years ago, there were only two taps, and as Mabe has risen to his new position, he’s elevated the beer selection along with his job description. For this event, a firkin of a special DuClaw “Beermosa” will be on hand, the perfect brunch beverage. Two rarely seen Mikkeller brews will be pouring, as well as Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, Wells Banana Bread Beer and DuClaw Devil’s Milk.

Nearly 1000 pancakes will be served throughout the day, Mabe estimates, and it’ll be a long one for the folks behind the stick. But customers will surely be kind and jovial, because, hey, free pancakes!
