Brian Strumke of Stillwater Opening "of Love & Regret" with Jack's Bistro
Baltimore native Brian Strumke is one of the most sought-after brewers in the world, thanks to his collab-friendly brew operation, Stillwater Artisanal Ales. Over the weekend the news broke that we’ll soon get hometown special treatment, when Strumke launches of Love & Regret, a tri-level market and tavern, in collaboration with chef Ted Stelzenmuller of Jack’s Bistro.
The first floor of the new venue, located in Brewer’s Hill in the former Canton Station Bar across from the old National Brewing Company, will house a casual upscale pub, featuring rare or esoteric brews (some exclusively) and creative fare from Stelzenmuller’s kitchen. The tap list will be nearly two-dozen strong, plus a couple of casks on beer engine.
On the second level visitors will find a provisions shop, filled with artisan products both liquid and solid. Think cheese, charcuterie, breads and coffee from craft producers around the globe, as well as bottled beer to go. The third floor will be reserved for private events.
A seven-day-a-week schedule of both lunch and dinner is planned for the bar, which is named for one of Strumke's brews, which we hope will open soon. Stay tuned for more news soon.
