Bar with the Most Taps in the World
The “bigger the better” and the “more the better” aren’t mentalities adopted by everyone, but when it comes to beer, you’ll rarely find someone complaining that there are too many options.
So in the case of the more the merrier, who does it best? While it’s not recognized by the Guinness Association, the Yard House in Long Beach California is widely recognized to be home of the largest selection of draft beer.
The chain restaurant, which is now represented by 30 locations nationwide, originally launched in 1996 with it’s Long Beach location. Priding itself on its selection of draft beer, the system allows as many as 250 different selections.
At any time approximately 180 different beers flow out of the 250 possible tap handles. At each location, a “keg room” is located directly beneath the bar where around 5,000 gallons of beer is stored, waiting to be ushered through three to five miles of beer lines to the taps above.
