Bar Review: Vino Rosina
Vino Rosina boasts a fantastic location — right in between Little Italy and Harbor East — and offers modern American fare with a menu of both small and large plates. As its name suggests, the restaurant offers an impressive international selection of over 150 bottled wines with 50 available by the glass. However, the bar also features award winning house-infused specialty cocktails and, notably, a well-stocked beer list.
Happy hour runs 4–7 PM, Monday–Friday, and it is indeed a happy time with ample bar space, delectable nibbles to choose from, and more importantly, a tantalizing array of drink options, with cocktails topping out at $7. The Blood Orange Manhattan is a crowd favorite, with the sweetness of Jim Beam playing well against Peychaud bitters. The Crotchless (yes, they went there) has a savory component from olives and smoked ham hocks (!), which mellows out to a surprising sweet finish. A limited selection of wines goes for $4, and with the warming spring breeze creeping in, the $5 white sangria is light & refreshing. This white wine infused with fresh fruit tastes so good that two can quickly be downed with no effort.
Vino Rosina is an elegant space, perfect to host business dinners but not so stuffy that the casual happy hour crowd doesn’t fully enjoy themselves. The menu is inventive enough to complement the abundant drink options without being complicated.
