Heavy Seas Letter of Marque Release at Frisco Taphouse, May 9
Each year, Clipper City Brewing Co. holds a homebrewing contest to find a new beer to add to the Heavy Seas Mutiny Fleet roster. The call for entries stresses that the Heavy Seas crew is looking for “exciting and unique” beers, and that “the bigger and more assertive,” the better.
The 2011 contest winners, Nick Boylan and Clay Wright, came up with a tripel wit brewed with light brown sugar, chamomile, orange peels and coriander. On Wednesday, May 9, you’ll have the first chance to taste this flavorful concoction at the release party at Frisco Taphouse.
Head over from 7–9 PM to join the party at this Columbia pub, which also sports 50 taps plus a beer engine. If you don’t make it out on Wednesday, you can look for Letter of Marque in 22-oz. bottles in better beer outlets soon.
