The New BYOB: Be Your Own Bartender at Townhouse Kitchen + Bar
Many of you have seen a pour-your-own tap in Baltimore before, but Harbor East’s Townhouse Kitchen + Bar has taken solo bartending to a whole new level.
Have a seat in one of the luxurious tap booths and call over a member of the friendly wait staff. Your tap will be activated for up to 32 ounces per person, for your first go round. You can then pour your own from three beer taps, currently Miller Lite, Blue Moon and Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. Want half a glass of each? No problem; the computer keeps track as you pour any combination of the beers on your table.
Once you hit your table limit in ounces, flag down a member of the wait staff to approve your table for another round.
The real surprise is the fourth tap, reserved for vodka. For no extra charge, the wait staff will bring you cranberry juice, soda, tonic and even cherry garnishes, if you so desire. Pours of vodka are translated by the computer so that one ounce of vodka registers the same as 16 ounces of beer. Thus if you have two shots in your vodka cranberry you have already reached your limit for that round.
Try out the new kind of BYOB at Townhouse Kitchen + Bar, and let us know what you mix up.
