From full-bodied reds to crisp, sweet whites, wine has many delicious varietals, a huge number of which will be on display at this year’s Maryland Wine Festival.

Spend a mid-September weekend on a drive to Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster for the 29th annual installment of this celebration of vino. With over 35 Maryland wineries pouring tastes, you're sure to find several that excite your palate. Other attractions at the two-day-long fest include crafts, food, entertainment, and wine education sessions.

Tickets can be purchased in advance here for $27 (the price goes up to $30 at the gate). Admission includes a logo-engraved wine sampling glass, tastes of all the wines, entry to the wine education seminars, continuous on-stage entertainment, guided tours of the museum’s 19th century farmhouse and self-guided tours of period artisan exhibits and demonstrations. Premier tickets, designated driver tickets, and children's tickets are all also available.

The festival runs Saturday, September 15, 10 AM–6 PM and Sunday, September 16, noon–6 PM.
