The Americana Hosts A Week of Events for Veterans Day

This Veterans Day (Sunday, November 11), our nation will take the time to give thanks to those men and women that have served our country and protected our freedom. One local Baltimore bar has committed itself to this commendable group of individuals and opened its doors to them as a gathering place throughout the year, and especially in the days leading up to Veterans Day.

The Americana, located off of Canton Square in Canton, is owned and operated by US Marine Alex van Breukelen. Over the past 15 months the bar has collected a following of over 500 US military veterans, who use the drinkery as a place to connect with other vets, network and give back to the community.

This week, The Americana has been hosting a series of events to give back to veterans. Check out some of the upcoming events below, and for more information visit out the bar's website.

Veterans Networking Event
5–9 PM, Thursday, November 8
Veteran-owned busineses, veteran-affiliated nonprofits, veterans interested in giving back and others are invited to meet other like-minded individuals in the greater Baltimore area. This promises to be the start of something big.

DoD Party and Ladies' Night

9 PM–2 AM, Friday, November 9
Female patrons can take advantage of $15 all-you-can-drink deals, and any Department of Defense personnel can show an active ID and get the first drink free, as well as discounts throughout the night.

Stars and Stripes Pub Crawl
1 –7 PM, Saturday, November 10
Pre-register for this event for $25 (day-of it's $30), which starts and ends at The Americana and is held in collaboration with the Chesapeake Women's Rugby team. The first 100 participants receive a special shirt, and $5 per ticket will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.

United States Marine Corps 237th Birthday Party
8 PM–2 AM, Saturday, November 10
There will be cake and drink specials to celebrate the occasion. Come in uniform and the first two drinks are on the house, or show proof you were in the Marine Corps and your first shot is free.
