J. Paul's Debuts New Brunch Cocktail: The Sparkling Sauce
The Inner Harbor is home to many restaurants that have beautiful views of the water, the USS Constitution, the Domino Sugar sign and many other Baltimore must-sees. We firmly believe the best way to take in the scenery is at brunch with a cocktail in hand, and there's a new drink that's perfect for the job.
This past week J Paul’s — which is located in one of the Inner Harbor shopping centers — debuted a brunch cocktail that piqued our interest. Don’t get us wrong, Bloody Marys and mimosas are still classics, but the thought of an apple-cider-based beverage sounded too good to pass up. The Sparkling Sauce is made with 2 ounces of apple cider and half an ounce of Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, topped with Champagne ($10). The sweetness of the cider is cut with the bitterness of the ginger and the bubbly aftertaste is a delicious finale.
If you're looking for a second cocktail while you nibble on eggs and pancakes, we also highly suggest the Paul Red Handed made with muddled strawberries, Absolut Citron, fresh lemon, elderflower liqueur and Champagne (also $10). Brunch at J Paul’s Harborplace is served Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 AM–3:30 PM.
