Kooper's North Toasts Ray Lewis With Benefit Breakfast, January 6
Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis announced this week that this will be his last season in the NFL; he'll be retiring after the playoffs this year. To honor and celebrate one of the best defensive players ever to play the game, Kooper’s North in Lutherville is hosting a special breakfast buffet to benefit the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation.
The Ravenwood Shopping Center pub will open early at 7:30 AM on Sunday, January 6, serving an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for just $5.20 per person. Also look for 52-cent oysters, $5.20 Passion 52 cocktails (Champagne and chamboard) and $5 for two Miller Lites. Everything runs through 10 AM, when regular Sunday brunch will resume.
A full 52% of all profits from the event will be donated to the foundation. WJZ/CBS Baltimore is expected to be on site and will feature live shots of the party at 8:15 AM and 8:45 AM.
If you can’t make it out to the event, Kooper’s Tavern, Slainte Irish Pub and Woody’s Rum Bar in Fells Point will all offer the 52-cent oysters all day long, starting at 11 AM. During the game, which starts at 1 PM, Kooper’s will also feature $5.20 wings, sliders and Raven Bombs. Ask for other 52-themed drink specials throughout the game.
And for those who are brokenhearted about Lewis’s retirement, fear not. Sports Illustrated has reported he is already slated to join ESPN as a sports analyst, and other gigs that keep him in the public eye are sure to follow. Cheers to 52! It was a great run.
