New Year: Five Drink Baltimore Resolutions for 2013
Sure, go ahead and resolve to get to the gym more this year, we'll support you fully. But along with the boring stuff, why not make sure your goals for 2013 includes some fun? Here are five beverage-centric suggestions for resolutions you'll have a good time checking off your list.
Drink a beer brewed in Baltimore: Baltimore is home to many breweries and brewpubs that make our local brew scene one of the top in the country. This year, resolve to drink more local brews and visit at least one (you can use our 20 Breweries & Brewpubs to Visit as a guide) to expand your libation horizons.
Get an unlimited drink bracelet at a food truck Gathering: Follow The Gathering to find out where Baltimore’s best food trucks will be parking on Fridays across the city. Many of these events offer all-you-can-drink bracelets for $15 so you can enjoy delicious beverages while perusing local vendors and the Baltimore trucks.
Enjoy a drink with a view: We certainly appreciate the outdoor seating at many of our favorite hot spots, but in 2013 seek out the lesser known bars located a bit higher in the sky. The newly renovated 13th Floor in the Belvedere Hotel in Mount Vernon is a great place to start; grab a drink and look out from the top of the hotel over the city that bleeds Purple and Orange.
Sip a margarita from a hubcap: Visit Nacho Mamas and drink a margarita the only way Canton Square knows how — from a hub cap. Go for an original or a flavor and definitely bring a camera and a friend for a great photo opportunity.
Spend Sunday brunch with unlimited bloodys or mimosas: There are many brunch specials to choose from in Baltimore, however there are a select few (such as Geckos and Little Havana) that get high marks for offering unlimited brunch drinks served in pitchers or glasses depending on how many are in your party. Plan an outing with a group and plan to take full advantage of this amazing deal on a Sunday morning.
