Wit & Wisdom Debuts New Spring Cocktails and Outdoor Seating

The new spring cocktail program at Wit & Wisdom is an ode to the warmer weather (which is finally here!), with light and fresh flavors and delicious infusions. As lead bartender Aaron Joseph notes, “if you can’t have fun making alcohol you can’t have fun drinking it." His philosophy runs throughout the new Spring Concoctions list.

Highlights include the Eastern Shore Shandy (Sloop Betty vodka, lemon, Old Bay syrup, Victory Prima Pils; $13) which is served in a mug and garnished with an Old Bay rim. Perfect for sunshine sipping, this is due to be a massive hit this spring and summer. Another one destined for warm-weather popularity is the Red Rum Punch ($12) which was inspired by Aaron’s time bartending in St. Martin. This Caribbean-vibe beverage is made with juices squeezed fresh daily and served in a highball glass over ice.

Garnished with rose petals, another standout on the new menu is the Edinburgh Rose ($13) made with Edinburgh gin, Lillet Rouge, rose petal syrup, lemon and egg white. The thought behind the drink was "a flower in a glass," and the housemade rose syrup creates a light cocktail that's an elegant play on a gin sour.

In addition to the Spring Concoctions list, the year-round menu includes both Classic Cocktails and House Specialties. These drinks are primarily modern and approachable twists on classic sips — for example, the Negroni Rose, which is a play on the traditional Negroni.  The goal of the beverage program in general is to present a collection of cocktails that are vibrant and textured but still allow a wide range of drinkers to find a beverage well-suited to their palates.

Also new this season, Wit & Wisdom, PABU Izakaya and LAMILL will offer outdoor dining on the patio at the Four Seasons Baltimore.  Wit & Wisdom will offer seating for 85 in several areas, including the bar, the casual lounge and more formal outdoor dining tables. Sixteen-by-sixteen-foot canopy-style umbrellas will shade diners from harsh sun. The outdoor space is expected to open in early May, and will remain open throughout the season.
