Drinking and Slurping: Baltimore's Best Oyster Bars |
Dylan’s Oyster Cellar (4 W. Madison St.; 443-803-4341)
This newcomer to the scene (who had its grand opening on March 14) is sure to make some splashes. Located in a small downstairs spot in Mount Vernon, Dylan’s offers nothing but oysters, and some of freshest and most delicious oysters around. The bar seamlessly blends a crowd of bearded 20-somethings in flannel with the power suits of savvy businessmen, all the while screaming: Take your date here! You’ll be sure to find a drink to match your tastes, too. Only in Baltimore could you see craft beers, fine wines, and top shelf liquors on the same list as a Natty Boh. If you do decide to give the new kids on the block a try, arrive early: the intimate, single room fills up faster than you can say “mollusk.” Dylan Salmon hopes to move his raw bar to a larger space in the coming months, so keep your ear to the ground for any news. This is the kind of place you’ll want to follow.
