Baltimore's Best Bars for Outdoor Drinking, 2015 |
Canton
This revitalized waterfront spot opened in spring of 2014, and it’s just as popular in the winter months as the warmer ones. Sip crushes, local brews and wine on tap overlooking the water from various outdoor vantage points. (2809 Boston St.; 410-773-9795)
Bo Brooks Restaurant
Crabs and daily happy hour – what more could you ask for in Baltimore? (2780 Lighthouse Point; 410-558-0202)
Canton Dockside
Picnic-style tables line the outdoor waterfront patio where many crabs are cracked in the spring and summer months. (3301 Boston St.; 410-276-8900)
Mama’s on the Half Shell
Nestled in one corner of Canton Square, Mama’s is known for seafood, but the drinks are equally delicious. Bonus: This outdoor seating offers some of the best weekend people watching in Baltimore. (2901 O’Donnell St.; 410-276-3160)
Plug Ugly’s Publick House
This Canton gem, located right on the Square in Canton, has an upstairs deck where revelers can enjoy a Pirate Juice (the bar’s specialty), or other beverages, while outside, but away from street level. (2908 O’Donnell St.; 410-563-8459)
While we know we can order Verde via OrderUp now, enjoying happy hour at the outside tables with $3 off pizzas and $6 classic craft cocktails Monday through Thursday sounds a lot more appealing in the spring and summer months. (641 S Montford Ave.; 410-522-1000)
Fork and Wrench
This self-proclaimed dive boutique bar has an industrial-themed interior that we love, but a quiet, cozy, garden-style outdoor area tucked away to the side of the main dining room is the perfect place to enjoy some small plates and a few of the inspired cocktails from the lengthy list. (2322 Boston St.; 443-759-9360)
Kislings
With a newly installed awning, blinding sun no longer threatens to impede on our ability to nosh on Kisling’s well-known wings while throwing back some happy hour beers and crushes. (2100 Fleet St.; 410-327-5477)
Langermann’s
Southern-inspired food and craft cocktails are even better on the brick patio of this Can Company restaurant. (2400 Boston St.; 410-534-3287)
Speakeasy
With two levels of outdoor seating, Speakeasy may be in the running for having the most outdoor seats in Canton. Bonus for sports fans: On the patio level, there is an enormous television perfect for watching the O’s outside. (2840 O’Donnell St.; 410-276-2977)
Looney’s
High top metal tables line the side of this corner bar that features some of the best happy hour deals on the Square. (2900 O’Donnell St.; 410-675-9235)
Claddagh’s
Offering Irish-inspired food and a pretty darn good crab cake, Claddagh’s offers the white tablecloth dining at the outdoor tables, as well as a few happy hour specials to get excited about (half-price wine is calling our name). (2918 O’Donnell St.; 410-522-4220)
Captain James Landing
Bohs and crabs are best enjoyed on a deck by the water, and Captain James provides just that. You can get fancier fare and classier cocktails, but why? We can think of few better ways to blow off steam after a tough day than banging that crab mallet and swilling cold suds. (2127 Boston St.; 410-327-8600)
