City Cafe Gives Rise to City Bar
City Cafe owner Bruce Bodie figured out a way to add coffee and cappuccino carry-out from his Mount Vernon haunt, while simultaneously doubling the number of beers he has on tap there with the newly opened annexation City Bar.
Early birds eager for that first worm, as well as night owls hanging until last call will benefit from the new dual-purpose expansion, which is serving from 7:30 AM to midnight on weekdays (1:30 AM on Fridays and Saturdays), and opens 10 AM for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
According to the Business Journal, City Bar has the capacity to hold 80 standing, and 24 or so seated at cocktail tables and the bar itself.
There’s currently a happy hour that runs 3 to 8 PM daily that has $4 drafts and cocktails, $5 glasses of wine, and half off on select menu items. In the weeks ahead, Bodie expects to roll out a late night happy hour with additional deals on drinks and eats.
